Prague – The golden city of a Hundred Spires

  • Request for proposal
Prague is a magical city whose bridges, cathedrals, gold-tipped towers and church domes have been mirrored in the surface of the swan-filled Vltava River for over ten centuries. Whilst its medieval center is a wonderful mixture of cobbled lanes, walled courtyards, cathedrals and countless church spires, Prague is also a modern and vibrant city full of energy, music, cultural art, fine dining and special events catering. Situated in the western part of the Czech Republic, Prague is the capital and largest city of the country, and has been a political, cultural, and economic center of central Europe throughout its entire existence. Founded during the Romanesque and flourishing by the Gothic and Renaissance eras, Prague has not only been the historic capital of Bohemia and the Czech state, but also the capital of the Holy Roman Empire. The city played major roles in the Protestant Reformation, the Thirty Years' War, and in the 20th century, during both World Wars and the post-war Communist era. Each of Prague's districts has its own characteristic atmosphere and unique charm. Prague presents itself as a changeable city, which likes to alternate styles: it is romantic and successful, ancient and modern, but above all it is a city that is cosmopolitan through and through, and is used to welcoming foreigners.
